Kyiv [Ukraine], July 16: Ukrainian President VolodymyrZelensky welcomed South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol for his first official visit to Kiev on Saturday and thanked him for Seoul's aid and support amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Zelensky underlined the need to rebuild infrastructure in Ukraine, referring to "schools, hospitals, housing, enterprises, everything destroyed by Russian missiles and enemy artillery." He thanked Yoon for South Korea's "willingness to support our education system." He also called on the leader to support those injured and handicapped in the ongoing attacks.
The two also discussed economic cooperation including on energy, railways, transport, the creation of production facilities in Ukraine, and finance, Kiev's statement said.
Yoon also visited the Kiev suburbs of Bucha and Irpin, where hundreds of civilians were found dead after Russian soldiers left the area after briefly occupying it shortly after the invasion began. (DPA)
