Abu Dhabi [UAE], November 26: H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, Chairman of the International Philanthropic and Humanitarian Council, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, has attended the inaugural Erth Zayed Philanthropies Forum in Abu Dhabi.
The Erth Zayed Philanthropies Forum brought together philanthropic entities that are part of Erth Zayed, including Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Emirates Foundation, Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund, Sandooq Al Watan, Clean Rivers, the Global Institute for Disease Elimination, Zayed Sustainability Prize, Khalifa Award for Education, Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, the Mohamed bin Zayed Award for Best Teacher, and the International Fund for Houbara Conservation.
On the occasion of the inaugural Erth Zayed Philanthropies Forum, His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed said: "Erth Zayed Philanthropies will seek to enhance the reach and effectiveness of the UAE's philanthropic activities, but it cannot do so alone. The first Erth Zayed Philanthropies Forum highlights the importance of working together, and it is our steadfast belief that collaboration is the tool that will deliver compounded impact. By uniting under the umbrella of Erth Zayed, we are charting a new path that honours the legacy of our Founding Father and enriches the humanitarian legacy of the UAE, ensuring its future growth. Together, we can make a lasting difference for communities near and far."
Alongside His Highness, members of the Board of Trustees visited the forum exhibition, which highlighted the contributions of the foundations that are part of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, underscoring the UAE's global philanthropic leadership and impact and highlighting the nation's commitment to addressing global development challenges. The forum also sought to emphasise the importance of fostering collaboration between entities and advancing partnerships to drive scalable solutions, thereby reinforcing Erth Zayed's role as a catalyst for meaningful and lasting change. In encouraging effective collaboration between entities, Erth Zayed Philanthropies will focus on ensuring that efforts are aligned with evolving global priorities and that outcomes prioritise improving lives and livelihoods locally, regionally and globally.
The forum was attended by members of the Board of Trustees of Erth Zayed Philanthropies. The Board of Trustees comprises of Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Founder's Office; Dr Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President's Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office; Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Development and member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council; Rashid Saeed Al Ameri, Advisor at the President's Office for Strategic Affairs; Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organisations and member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council; and Saeed Rashid Al Zaabi, Advisor to the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs.
The newly established philanthropic entity, launched under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will unify many of the UAE's major global philanthropic efforts and position itself as both an operational and strategic vehicle that enhances the efficiency, impact and global visibility of the UAE's philanthropic endeavours.
Erth Zayed Philanthropies was established to complement the existing activities of the entities that are part of the Erth Zayed ecosystem and will amplify their overall reach and impact, finding new avenues for collaboration and identifying overlapping sectoral and geographical focus areas to ensure the efficiency and efficacy of programmes and projects.
Erth Zayed Philanthropies reflects the UAE's distinct legacy of giving and aims to ensure that the UAE's commitment to uplifting communities around the world evolves to meet contemporary challenges to deliver positive impact on a truly global scale. In uniting the UAE's many existing philanthropic initiatives supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan under one vision, Erth Zayed seeks to create new pathways in philanthropy, advance humanitarian issues, and make a significant and enduring contribution to global development goals.
